Probe description

The LSI 10p11.1 FISH kit is intended for the enumeration of chromosome 10 in human tissues using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
The LSI 10p11.1 FISH kit contains a directly labeled fluorescent DNA probe in hybridization buffer. The fluorochrome Orange labeled probe is targeted to the subcentromeric region of the chromosome.
Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) on chromosome 10 is the most frequent genetic abnormality observed in high-grade gliomas. The use of the 10p.11.1 probe with other relevant markers (e.g. 1p36.3, 19q13, and 9p21.3) is important in complec diagnostics of malignant gliomas.

FISH results

A normal cell hybridized with the LSI 10p11.1 (Orange) (1a). The cell in this image shows 2 orange signals. An abnormal cell (1b) shows the one orange signal which indicates the loss of chromosome 10.

A normal cell hybridized with the LSI 10p11.1 (Orange) shows 2 orange signals of chromosome 10p11.1 region. An abnormal cell hybridized with the LSI 10p11.1 (Orange) shows the one orange signal which indicates the loss of chromosome 10.
